Cestrum rubrum, commonly known as Red Cestrum or Red Jessamine, is an evergreen shrub native to Central and South America. It belongs to the nightshade family, Solanaceae, and is prized for its tubular, bright red to deep crimson flowers that bloom primarily in the warmer months. The flowers often attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. Cestrum rubrum grows in well-drained soils and can reach heights of 6-10 feet (1.8-3 meters). The plant's parts are toxic if ingested.
